Poste Italiane
For several years it has been difficult to get mint stamps of Italy
from Poste Italiane. They insisted on very expensive ways of transferring money, which I usually got round by using either Italian friends or others visiting Italy to pay for them there. Then they developed a web site which accepted credit cards from overseas customers. This worked for a while and then they stopped accepting overseas credit cards. I am delighted to report that they have sorted out the problems, and I have just received the last two years worth of commemoratives (it is tedious going through each issue - much easier to buy year sets). However, there is no apparent way to buy definitive issues - they do not seem to be able to cope with the fact that some definitives are dated and change each year. Sadly the stamps issued to 18-year-olds in small sheetlets were only available to 18-year-olds, and are now exceedingly difficult to acquire. -- Tony Clayton Coins of the UK : http://www.coins-of-the-uk.co.uk Sent using RISCOS on an Acorn Strong Arm RiscPC .... I'm not dead; I'm metabolically challenged. |

Poste Italiane
Dear Tony,
Yes, it is very difficult to get mint stamps from Poste Italiane. I have the same problem. I have a sister, living in Roma, but she is very old and handicapt, so I cannot ask her help. Tony, if you get a solution, please email me. Grazie, Ciao, Hans Tony Clayton schreef: For several years it has been difficult to get mint stamps of Italy from Poste Italiane. It is the definitives which I have always preferred - a solution would be to find an English speaking dealer in Italy who deals with specialised modern issues. -- Tony Clayton Coins of the UK : http://www.coins-of-the-uk.co.uk Sent using RISCOS on an Acorn Strong Arm RiscPC ....
