Santa gave me some cash for Christmas to spend unwisely so I guess it's time I updated my
1995 Scott catalog. I collect US in Scott albums including the revenue album. The
question is would I do better to buy the part 1 or the US specialised? None of the
websites I have been to give much of an idea what the difference is between the two.

John,

Part 1 is the same format/coverage of any country. Specialized includes
revenues and other material neglected in the standard country listing.

Thanks - sounds like the specialized is a bit over the top for my needs. Vol 1 seems to cover pretty much everything in the Scott
revenue album so I will blow my cash on that.

Thanks for the tip about testing, too - bit late now!

Cheers - John

Were it me I'd do the Specialized since it does cover more. Cost is the
same!

I like Volume 1 since I collect both US and Australian stamps, but if
you only collect US the specialized volume, as others have posted, has
much more information.

I have both catalogs on CD's. I notice that the prices for my older US
plate blocks are about half what they were in my printed 1981
specialized catalog. Oh, well, I didn't start collecting stamps as an
investment...

Thanks, Everyone

After much soul searching, I decided on the US Specialised, even though it covers a whole load of stuff that doesn't interest me
(ie I can't afford!). The vol 1 seemed to be mostly countries I had no interest in. Now to save up for a new classic (I wonder
what a very dilapidated 2001 edition would fetch on ebay!)

Cheers - John
