LPC Sound Problem

I got a call today from someone I sold an Seeburg LPC to back in '93.
He stated that the sound was intermittant and sometimes not come on at
all....no static or scratchy sound just sound 'dropout' for want of a
better term. Any idea here on what to look for? Maybe a bad tube?
Which one might be suspect with these symptoms? Thanks in advance! Norm

Both channels, at the same time or one at a time? My first check would be
the mute contacts (don't remember if it's a separate relay in the amp on
that model) and loose/corroded connectors on the pick-up cable, especially
at the amplifier end (they loosen and corrode easily). The volume control
may be dirty too. Does he use it often or has it been sitting for a while?

He uses it quite frequently at least a few times a week for 5-6 hours..
