sorry if this has been discussed here in the past. is there a way to reduce or eliminate book smell? i only have a couple that are affected, so can't justify special chemicals or other material. thanks! marcus denning Airing the book out might help. Sit it on a table for a few days and fan the pages out. It might even be useful to set it in sunlight for a day with the fanned out pages toward the sun. Take a look at The Abbey Press, which publishes articles on conservation of materials: http://palimpsest.stanford.edu/byorg/abbey/ Francis A. Miniter |
