Default news on richardson's Picasso Vol III

Hi -

This is OT here, but I'm desperate. I can find nothing on the web or
elsewhere about the status of Volume III of John Richardson's Life of
Picasso. Random House, which published the first two volumes, is not
publishing the third and won't tell me who is.

Any help with this much appreciated.

Sal

If you read through all the Amazon reviews of Richardson's
memoir " The Sorcerer's Apprentice: Picasso, Provence, and
Douglas Cooper"

for-

this might suggest some clues as to why neither yourself
not the publishers should necessarily be holding your
breath.

One possibility may simply be that Richardson has lost his
enthusiasm for the project, more especially as two more volumes
(minimum) are projected, and has reached a stage in life when he
has no further desire for recognition or reward.

That's only a guess, however.

Michael -

thanks for the leads. i read the reviews of 'sorcerer' and found no real
reference to JR being out of gas (although he is now about 82).

People often decide to publish their memoirs and "set the record
straight", when they sense the grim reaper hovering over their
shoulders. That's all. Such considerations might also have a
bearing on their other priorities as well.

however, i
did deduce a lead from this book - i'm contacting university of chicago
press, who published 'sorcerer' to see if they have info on volume iii.

regards,

bill
