"First Coin," for sale
I have a little page about the coin that most numismatists regard as
the first true coin, he http://rg.ancients.info/lion Received two catalogs in the mail today, including the latest Freeman & Sear fixed price catalog, and he has one of these up for sale. Rob Freeman is a skilled and knowledgeable numismatist, and his prices are typically full retail (you get expert authentication and attribution from him), but this coin is wholesale priced. Someone here earlier expressed interest in buying one of these. I don't expect this coin to remain for sale long at $1,050 (I've seen at least one dealer recently list this same coin in about this same condition as his Web site for double this). You can see the Freeman & Sear coin he http://www.freemanandsear.com/displa...pl?prodid=1176 -- Email: (delete "remove this") Coin Collecting: Consumer Protection Guide: http://rg.ancients.info/guide Glomming: Coin Connoisseurship: http://rg.ancients.info/glom Bogos: Counterfeit Coins: http://rg.ancients.info/bogos |
