Default who was Armand Coppens?

I can't find anything on the web that identifies "Armand Coppens",
author of "Memoirs of an Erotic Bookseller".

Maurice Girodias having a bit of fun by including himself as a
character in the book? (He's the only definitely identifiable one
I can spot, and also the least characterized one of any importance).

You may not find much. It is not uncommon for writers of
erotic literature to use pseudonyms to hide their identity.
You probably remember one of the more memorable quests,
like that for Americ'a Deep Throat, was for the true
identity of Pauline Reage, author of L' Histoire d'O (1954).
It was only in the late 90s that she revealed herself to
be Dominique Aury, an employee of a Publishing House.

As to Armand Coppens, there actually was an Armand Coppens
who was born in Saskatchewan, Canada in 1922, and who would
have been about the correct age to right the Memoirs in
1969. The original text was in English and published at th
Grove Press, which gives the linguistic background of the
author, but does not indicate any nationality, since at that
time, few publishers showed the courage of Grove Press to
publish controversial books.
