Shakespeare's, of course!

Of course, they will have to take a sample of the bacon and carbon date
it to be certain. And, maybe, just maybe, they will find a thumb print
of Shakespeare's on a corner of the bacon, proving beyond a doubt that
this was his!

Francis A. Miniter

But, what's if it's Francis Bacon's bacon? Hmmm. Has anyone thought
about the significance of that?

That's impossible. But it could be Kevin Bacon's bacon.

But if it wasn't, what would its Bacon Number be?

How about a gun in a book?

Francis A Miniter

It doesn't say whether or not it was a Bible. To be authentic, it must
be a Bible.

You think it was a fake gun?

Isn't it inordinately clever of the police to determine that the gun was
"not stolen". (Unless they mean not stolen by the library, of course.)
If so, why are they holding it as "evidence"? Evidence of what?

Not fake, just seriously antiquated. I mean, who shoots black powder
other than those people who dress up in costumes?

It depends what you mean by "seriously antiquated". The term "black
powder" seems to be of American origin, and no earlier than the mid to
late 19th century.

It's not something I would select for any useful purpose. It's strictly
a hobby thing now.
