1951 AMI - won't reset
I have been trying to get my 1951 AMI to reset. The turntable is
turning and the amp is on but I cannot get it to select a record and when I press the re-set it just buzzes and does nothing. The manual said to check thant the DC Switch was on. I found it after taking the back off but the switch was was already on. I turned it off and then on again but the results are the same. Please, if anyone has any other suggestions I would love to hear them. |

Check fuses first for correct value, also check all power wiring inside the machine as AMI jukeboxes, if not rewired, can be dangerous due to 115VAC wiring getting brittle! The real question is which model do you have? 1951 is not a model, and in some cases is not the year the jukebox was made - you may have been misinformed. 1951 is likely a D-XX(X). The cam switch at the back of the turntable unit must turn off when the record returns, if it doesn't the turntable and amp stay on. I'd say just reach behind and manually trip the switch, if it stops everything then you just need a simple adjustment. I think John Robertson kindly posted the section you need on his website www.Flippers.com Mike |
