Nice, but that's a foreign coin. I thought at first it was gonna be a
US coin.

Dated 1677?

The proper term is "world" coin. To Billy it is anything but foreign.

Also for the record, the Mexican two reales coins of the period
circulated in North America as "two bits" or a quarter dollar.

I found one dated 1682 for sale by a dealer for £65, I like mine a lot
better. Billy

So do I. The surfaces on yours just have a "harder" look, the color is
better, and there aren't the slick areas. The rim bump detracts, but not
overly so.

The US didn't exist in 1677. It was Britiush colonies, and they used
mostly Spanish, French and British coins.
The US started making its own coins in 1792.

I think that is a beautiful coin. I certainly don't have anything to
compare to it.
I like coins that the date starts with 16 and 17 :-)

Here is a couple I have in that time frame

I like the 1691 coin, I have similar coins, Leopold I 3 kreuzer Kremnitz
mint 1667, Prussia 3 groschen 1535, 3 groschen 1670 Charles somebody minted
in Olmutz, 3 groschen Poland Sigismund III 1599.

They are all very attractive silver coins of similar style to your 1691
coin, and they are high grade, and they were cheap back in the 1970's, the
1535 I bought later in 1987 for £20. Billy
