Amazon is listing both the "Type Set" and the "Five Cent Piece" red
books. Anyone know when these will really be published?

I spoke to my wholesaler last thursday and he had heard of no street date
whatsoever for either one.

I suppose it's the literary equivalent of "vaporware".

What about the revised Hibler-Kappen? Hasn't that been in production for
like ten years now?

IIRC, that book was issued back before zip codes. Is either Hibler or
Kappen still around to do the job?

Bob,

I talked to Whitman on the phone last month. They stated that the Type Set
book would be out in late January. They took my preorder. I haven't heard
anything from Whitman since.

However, in the article in Coin World last week about the high and low extra
leaf varieties, the author stated that the Wisconsin coin would be mentioned
by QDB in the type book due out in May...

As an aside, I have not had good luck using Amazon to get Whitman books. I
have ordered both a Red Book and the Double Eagle book, but they seem to
have problems getting them. I eventually had to cancel those orders and get
them from a supplier or book store.

Actually, I had pretty good luck with QDB's Morgan and Double Eagle
books. I ordered them together, and they both arrived pretty quickly.
