Ortofon...eh...I've heard a lot better for less. I generally dislike
MC cartrdiges; their benefits are overhyped, while their disadvantages
are kept mum. Had Howie Schwartz lived longer, we would've probably
seen his electret MicroAcoustics run MCs almost out of business.
However, as fate had it, the ultimate refinements in piezoelectric
signal generation pretty much died when Howie did in 1984, and hasn't
been heard from since.

Sure, the Rondo's better than a Shure V15, but not by that much. One
thing people never seem to recognize about MC cartridges...they wear
vinyl at an alarming clip, owing to the higher stylus pressures needed
for them to track high frequencies properly due to their low
compliance. If you want high compliance that'll never wear out a
record, the V15's pretty close as you can get these days. Everyone
else is out of business.

Retard-
Do you know you just cut and pasted Bob's last entry? So basically,
Bob's "proven wrong- again !" by... himself???

In the dictionary, under "redundant" it says "see redundant".

I don't think it was Uncle Bob that wrote the eulogy for the LP
recording some twenty years ago. A lot of people did - flocking up to the CD
like lemmings. I just find it interesting that so many current artists and
past artists' catalogues are being still pressed on vinyl. And the LPs sell
for about what a CD sells for. This in spite of the hype when the CD came
out that it's lower production costs would lower prices of recorded music to
consumers. Now the CD is on shaky ground.
Trip, get a grip. You seem to be in a rut. Go for a nice hike
in the woods.

I saw Johnny Cash's "The Man Comes Around" on LP for $14.98, and the CD
was $18.98, just two weeks ago. Most of the newly-pressed LPs *I've*
seen are at least $1-2 cheaper than their CD counterparts.
