Default "Blackened money" con game

Got a call today from a guy who wanted to know if we knew anything about
"blackened money." Meant nothing to me, so I started asking questions.
Eventually it came out that the guy had fallen victim to some con men who had
convinced him that when professional currency smugglers wanted to take money
out of Switzerland and bring it into the U.S., they first coated it with an
opaque black waxy coating that prevented the Customs' scanners from detecting
it. They showed him a suitcase full of the stuff, then probably picked one or
two "at random" and removed the coating with a solvent to reveal the $100 bill
underneath. Then then offered to sell him the contents of the suitcase at
something like 75 cents on the dollar. Don't know what excuse they had for not
just rinsing the notes off themselves, since they were already in the country.
..
They got him for $100,000!!!!!!!!!!!!!
..
How can people be so flipping stupid???????
..

IOW, the person wouldn't have been a "victim" if he had declined to be a party
to smuggling.

We see posts here about thieves who rip off Dealers and everyone voices their
anger. But smugglers are as bad, as they too are breaking the law. If a person
agrees to be their "fence", they deserve what they get.

Smugglers could be raising funds for terrorists.

If you aid them you could go to jail for life. Or maybe get the death penalty.

No, democracy in action will be Lurch losing worse than McGovern.
Bush did not lie about Iraq, the liberal media lied about Bush lying,
but you couldn't see that through all the automoton-like bleeting you
are doing of the liberal line.

pffft...
