"Stafford remembers what she paid for the chair, but not where she bought
it." Of course she doesn't remember where she bought it. Of course On 5/30/05 6:20 AM, in article , "stonej" wrote: http://cbs5.com/watercooler/watercoo...150090139.html |

The stupid woman is planning to spend it at more garage sales. The whole reason to go to garage sales is so that you might find something valuable that another doesn't know is valuable and take advantage of them. One does NOT spend vintage bills, one takes them to the local coin shop and sells them for what they are worth. She could have potentially 10 x what she has now. Stupid lady. |

I disagree with your statement that the purpose of going to garage sales is
to find something valuable, etc. Most people go these to find an article they need at a low price. Occasionally, something valuable turns up, but that is rare. A lot of people go to garage sales looking for things to resell on
Ebay. If you have good knowledge in certain collectable areas you can do quite well. |

It's been known for Scottish notes nearing 200 years old to be taken to
the bank and the owner being over the moon to still get face for them, £1. Not clever when the note is valued in the low £1,000's. Non collectors will never be understood by collectors, they are as different as the shape shifters and "solids" in Star Trek DS9. There's a new series here in the UK, "The 20th Century Antiques Road
Show", some of my toys have appeared on it, do I feel old. :-) I'm I glad that I still have my train set and Mecanno racing cars, similar to Scalectrics. Billy Yesterday I got quite old $100 bill from the bank, I do a double take when I see them now, they just aren't around much now. In the past couple of years I have gotten two $20's from the bank from the 1934 series. |

Occasionally a Scottish note 10 or so years old will be found in
circulation but the majority are just a few years old at most. Billy Scottishmoney wrote: "note.boy" wrote in message ...
