and if you're into Hondas....well, Honda didn't even MAKE any cars
back then....(laughter...) so this is what Ricky would have to buy
back then, his "car of the year" for the upwardly mobile and
successful in life...

oddly enough, the old Honda is actually more appealing than the new
Honda Pilo****....

....and many still run. I just finished another trip in my 31 year
old Honda...got 33 MPG with the AC on. It's the last year for this
thing as parts are getting a bit more difficult, but it proves once
and for all time that Noodles (and Lee Iacocca) were wrong about
Hondas, at least the CVCCs. Of course, Noodles would be too stupid to
know how to properly maintain one. Hell, he can't even keep his rust
bucket Potty-tank running for long!

Hey Noodles! Got an oil pressure problem in that ****box? HAHA!

you got that right, Andy

for some reason, Ricky and Bob hate those good old cars

most likely, because they can't afford them, and can't keep gas in
them

ever heard of the fox and the grapes ?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Fox_and_the_Grapes

The Fox and the Grapes is a fable attributed to Aesop. The
protagonist, a fox, upon failing to find a way to reach grapes hanging
high up on a vine, retreated and said: "The grapes are sour anyway!"
The moral is stated at the end of the fable as:

It is easy to despise what you cannot get.

The English idiom "sour grapes" - derived from this fable - refers to
the denial of one's desire for something that one fails to acquire or
to the person who holds such denial. Similar expressions exist in
other languages. In psychology, this behavior is known as
rationalization. It may also be called reduction of cognitive
dissonance.

In colloquial speech the idiom is often applied to someone who loses
and fails to do so gracefully. Strictly speaking, it should be applied
to someone who, after losing, denies the intention to win altogether.
The phrase is often misused by those unaware of the original story,
who imagine it refers to general "bitterness" or "resentment".

Similar Persian (Farsi) idiom: "The cat who cannot reach the meat says
it stinks!"

The moral of the fable centers on the qualification by the fox, when
he finds his desire unattainable

reason- Bob has no money, restoring his Honda would be like restoring
a used 1978 toilet, and no one would want it when it was finished- it
has no value or attractive qualities, other than "good gas mileage"

a lawn tractor gets good mileage too, but who'd want to drive one
everyday on the freeway

imagine driving Bob's Honda, down the LA freeway...the horror- the
embarassment- that's why he's so bitter, it's all he can afford

There are VERY few collectors of these. They're transportation
devices, not show pieces. That's the part that Noodles just doesn't
understand. Those overpriced cars he grunts about are simply toys,
not meaningful transportation devices.

As parts become harder to get, I'll simply retire it. Hell, I got my
money out of it many times over, thanks to its efficiency.

The Datsun 1600s and 2000s are BIG collectables now due to their
relative rarity. These were the forerunners of the famous Z cars. The
guy pulled the auction, idiot, because he screwed up the opening bid.
Go look again:

The seller ended this listing early because of an error in the
listing.

Charlie Nudo...poor attention skills, poorer reading skills. No
wonder he was in the bottom 20% of his graduating class and couldn't
even think about college!

yes, there are many collectors of vintage rotted Hondas...they have to be
worth at least, er, 3 bucks...

just like there may still be leftover turds floating around in the ocean,
from 1978....

(laughter...)
