Whenever some idiot starts their post with
"these people on here", one can know what's coming next:
obtuse generalizations.

Well, Link, you are posting from Comcast, and you did make a solemn promise
to to say hateful things about people.

Prohibited uses include, but are not limited to, using the Service, Customer
Equipment, or the Comcast Equipment to:

(ii) post, store, send, transmit, or disseminate any information or material
which a reasonable person could deem to be objectionable, offensive,
indecent, pornographic, harassing, threatening, embarrassing, distressing,
vulgar, hateful, racially or ethnically offensive, or otherwise
inappropriate, regardless of whether this material or its dissemination is
unlawful;

Isn't it odd that these people who believe in following all of the
rules that they have made a "solemn promise" to observe don't
mind violating their ISP's rules against profane, vulgar, hurtful
posts?

Aw, gee.
Actually, you don't know the rules well, or, at all.

These people on here have no realization that real world consumers
require constant reminders to buy - it's called advertising and promotion.
Everyone claims thay don't want advertising, but if its the right

kind -targeted
to their needs, they DO want it. Do you people spend all your time
complaining to the post office about every piece of unsolictied junk
mail you receive in your mailbox? Do you refuse to read an ad because
you didn't "request" it? Do you refuse to buy from any vendor who

advertises
because you are smart enough to look for someting you want on your own?

Ok, so you say spam, oh my bad, advertising, is targeted advertising... so
why am I getting adds for Viagra when I'm 23??? Really now, your "claims"
have more holes than swiss cheese. Do I use AOL because they send me a cd
every week? Heck no, not even with the free hours. I'm happy with my ISP, no
desire to change, yet they keep sending them. I do refuse to buy from
vendors that spam me. I purchased a truck from a dealer over 2 years ago.
They send me crap about I'm qualified for a certain amount... Well, fine
print... Only if you qualify. A *SMART* person assumes there is something
behind the claim they see in the spam and don't pursue it... or if it is a
product they desire, research it on their own first, then buy.

Dear One Time Customer -
Told you we'd be "working you".
Since you're too stupid to know, we're telling
you now that you need a 1947s and a 1947p penny
to complete your set. And since you're too stupid
to search on your own, we'll notify you when we
have one available. When that happens you'll be
notified and you MUST purchase it. Because you
need it. This is not spam because we said so.

I like what you wrote Lumpy. LOL even. It's just too bad that these people
feel the need to spam to advertise. A good example is sig's. I refuse to
click on Frank's because its so rediculously long... but I clicked on yours
lumpy... You have a catchy line under your url. For frank and all those that
believe its ok to spam, really think about it. If you can't actually be
creative and have to resort to spamming former customers, what's your stuff
really worth? Oh, and lumpy, nice site too! I remember the pics of the
beachfront property in phoenix ya showed. :-) good stuff!!

It's not spam it it's targeted to an indiviual customer with whom you have
an existing
business relationship. Just because you want to call something spam,
doesn't make it
so.

Yes I do.

So I guess you read the paper with blinders so you
won't accidentally see an ad you didn't request?

Yes I do.

Reasonable people appreciate contact from a seller that they have had
a good experience with.

It's been standard in the collectibles market for many years to send notices
of acquistions that a client may be seeking. It's almost always appreciated
as
a consideration.

You people seem to have no knowlege of the collectibles market.

Woe to anyone who calls Helen Wallace a dumb twit. She (with her
late husband R.E. "Bob" Wallace) has one of the biggest stamp and coin
businesses
in the U.S.

BULL**** on that. Collector's are savvy: they know how to
set searches on ebay. If one keeps their merchandise visible,
collectors will see it. All one need do is list their items.

More filthy language.

Wallace Stamps and Coins has been around since 1948, probably
before you were born, since you act like you are about 15.

I don't know about the rest of ya, but that huge sig is getting to me.

How is a 4 line sig huge?

Frank, you are completely beyond logic. There are NO customers.

That's funny, where does my merchandise go? Who keeps sending me money?

They give us a well known venue for selling our stuff.

They give it to you? Wow, I have been paying ebay $300-$500 a month. Tell
me more!

Users get in touch with other users for a one time auction.

I though ebay was doing everything possible to keep users FROM getting in
touch
with each other.

You are completely confusing the ideas of a brick and mortar
building vs. an online venue.

People NOT confusing the two
might be why several trillion dollars went down the toilet with the
dot-com bust. People thought online venues didn't have to follow the
constraints of brick-and-mortar stores. Like offering a product. Or making
a profit.

Since you pay ebay fees, YOU are ebays CUSTOMER.

Hey, first thing you have said that I agree with. But you really need to
learn
that the possessive "ebays" needs an apostrophe.

And like most places say, they can refuse service to anyone
for any reason...

A class action brought on behalf of African American customers of Denny's
Restaurants in California resulted in a $34.8 million settlement and
established a monitoring system to assure that African American customers of
Denny's nationwide receive nondiscriminatory service in the future.

It's really quite simple. We are ebay's customers... I don't see any
commercials on tv that say, "Hey come to ebay and bid on frank's coin
auctions"...

Just $50 a month for Google adwords.

Just $382.20 a year for an ad in Coin World (Classification 2 -
Announcements)

They are promoting themselves to draw more users/customers so that the

venue
will be packed.

Gee, I thought it was so that Meg Whitman's stock options would be worth
more...

Now a good way of keeping repeat customers instead of enraging those that
wish to not get your spam is to simple send an email after you send the
item.

No one is engranged except certain people in these newsgroups who never
bought from me and never received my email.

Ask that they let you know when the item arrives and offer to include
them in future notifications. Then keep they yes's on file so if you get

hit
with another spam problem you can say, "Hey they said yes"

Ah, but when ebay refuses to tell you who complained, what they complained
about, or when it was supposed to have happened, it's not possible to
contest
ebay's presumption of your guilt.
