NSM ES 160 mechanism help!
Hello all,
I have recently acquired an NSM Festival jukebox, I think it is an ES 160 mechanism. After cleaning and lubricating the mechanism, I have it running quite smoothly, but there is still a problem with the mech. Once in a while, the mechanism motor seems to stop too early while loading a record. It begins playing OK, but when it gets near the end, it jams because the tonearm isn't able to move freely towards the end of record. If I rotate the mechanism motor manually a bit, the lever controlling the tonearm lifts out of its way and everything's OK. I have tried adjusting the mechanism microswitch, and even replaced it, but no success. The machine might play 10 records OK, but then the problem appears again. Another question: How do I set it on free play? The manual tells to set adjustment C3 to 000 00 and then turn key switch on. I have done that and shorted the keyswitch terminals at the connector but no success. My manual is for the ES II mechanism/software and I seem to have older version because my juke does not have the Cr adjustment for random play. Does my machine have a freeplay setting at all? Thanks in advance for any help! Tuukka |
