Obviously you've done a cut and past from a website. In that case, Ill
refer you to any good apologetic work in a Christian bookstore. You will
find the answers there.
Something you need to keep in mind, a contradiction is something that
would
strictly rule out one statement or event over another. Many of the
statements you post are not contradictory by definition. Again, these are
accounts written down by different people, all written from different
perspectives.

But these are God's words I thought? Now it actually is the words of men?

Things may appear different from one perspective as opposed
from another perspective, but both accounts are correct from their given
perspective. Something else you have to consider, is that if all the
accounts matched exactly, that would go to lend itself to being a
contrived
document.

Or the moral of the story is what matters and not little details about which
day the Sun was created and how there was light even without a Sun which
violates the laws of the universe that God created.

Actually if you reverse extrapolate the population growth, accounting for
wars and natural disasters, I think you will find the numbers seem to come
to about 0 within about a 4 thousand yr time frame. I didn't do this
research, but I did find it interesting.
B

If I extrapolate the weight loss I have achieved over the past couple of
years, I should disappear completely somewhere around 2012 (but don't hold
your breath).

Brian, you *cannot* extrapolate in the fashion you (or I) described. If you
had a background in scientific training, you'd realise that.

As it is, I guess you'll have to take it on faith.
You're good at that, yes?

I bought The God Delusion today, I suggest you do likewise.

The book shop had it on a BOGOF so I chose Victoria Cross Heroes as my
second choice, the author has a collection of 145 Victoria Crosses, wow, and
this book is the story of the winners, this thread is back On Topic! Billy

I can suggest going to the bookstore, or even to the library if you don't
want to spend the money.

b.. The magicians did the same (Exodus 7:22). This is impossible, since
there would have been no water left to convert into blood.
94. Who killed Goliath?

a.. David (I Samuel 17:23, 50)
b.. Elhanan (2 Samuel 21:19)
95. Who killed Saul?

a.. Saul took his own sword and fell upon it.... Thus Saul died... (I
Samuel 31:4-6)
b.. An Amalekite slew him (2 Samuel 1:1- 16)
96. Does every man sin?

a.. Yes. There is no man who does not sin (I Kings 8:46; see also 2
Chronicles 6:36; Proverbs 20:9; Ecclesiastes 7:20; and I John 1:810)
b.. No. True Christians cannot possibly sin, because they are the

children
of God. Every one who believes that Jesus is the Christ is a child of

God..
(I John 5:1). We should be called children of God; and so we are (I John

3:
1). He who loves is born of God (I John 4:7). No one born of God commits
sin; for Gods nature abides in him, and he cannot sin because he is born

of
God (I John 3:9). But, then again, Yes! If we say we have no sin we

deceive
ourselves, and the truth is not in us (I John 1:8)
97. Who will bear whose burden?

a.. Bear one anothers burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ

(Galatians
6:2)
b.. Each man will have to bear his own load (Galatians 6:5)
98. How many disciples did Jesus appear to after his resurrection?

a.. Twelve (I Corinthians 15:5)
b.. Eleven (Matthew 27:3-5 and Acts 1:9-26, see also Matthew 28:16;
Mark
16:14 footnote; Luke 24:9; Luke 24:3 3)
99. Where was Jesus three days after his baptism?

a.. After his baptism, the spirit immediately drove him out into the
wilderness. And he was in the wilderness forty days ... (Mark 1:12-13)
b.. Next day after the baptism, Jesus selected two disciples. Second

day:
Jesus went to Galilee - two more disciples. Third day: Jesus was at a
wedding feast in Cana in Galilee (see John 1:35; 1:43; 2:1-11)
100. Was baby Jesus life threatened in Jerusalem?

a.. Yes, so Joseph fled with him to Egypt and stayed there until Herod
died (Matthew 2:13 23)
b.. No. The family fled nowhere. They calmly presented the child at the
Jerusalem temple according to the Jewish customs and returned to Galilee
(Luke 2:21-40)
101. When Jesus walked on water how did the disciples respond?

a.. They worshipped him, saying, Truly you are the Son of God (Matthew
14:33)
b.. They were utterly astounded, for they did not understand about the
loaves, but their hearts were hardened (Mark 6:51-52)

Obviously you've done a cut and past from a website. In that case, Ill
refer you to any good apologetic work in a Christian bookstore. You will
find the answers there.
Something you need to keep in mind, a contradiction is something that
would
strictly rule out one statement or event over another. Many of the
statements you post are not contradictory by definition. Again, these
are
accounts written down by different people, all written from different
perspectives.

But these are God's words I thought? Now it actually is the words of men?

Things may appear different from one perspective as opposed
from another perspective, but both accounts are correct from their given
perspective. Something else you have to consider, is that if all the
accounts matched exactly, that would go to lend itself to being a
contrived
document.

Or the moral of the story is what matters and not little details about
which day the Sun was created and how there was light even without a Sun
which violates the laws of the universe that God created.

Scotty said many times to Captain Kirk, " I canny change the laws of
physics", so it must be impossible or he would have been able to do it.

Scientist work on assumptions that fit their agenda

Pot. Kettle. Black.

Yeah youre right. So?

Just thought you might want to know.

At least scientists are willing to admit, in the discovery of new

facts,
that they were wrong to begin with.

And the Bible has still never been proven to be wrong, in all these

years
of
scientific endeavor to do so.

This is where you get kooky. Not every scientist is out there to "prove

the
Bible wrong". In fact some recent scientific discoveries actually

reinforce
what the Bible says. For example, it is my understanding that (fairly)
recent discoveries in mitochondrial DNA shows that we can trace our

ancestry
back to the same woman. Essentially, there actually was an Eve. That

means
we all can trace our ancestry back to one man - her father. So Adam was
actually Eve's father. Does this "prove the Bible wrong"? Not at all -

the
message behind the story of Adam and Eve remains in tact. Unless you

insist
on reading it literally, which is an incredibly stupid thing to do.

Some scientists believe in God because the more we discover about the
universe the more complicated we realize it is. In the stupid
evolution/"intelligent design" debate there is no reason not to accept

that
God created the process of evolution and allowed something like us to

evolve
that can actually go about discovering how his creation, the universe,
really works.

You are doing yourself and the Bible a disservice by insisting that the
Bible has to be literal. Accepting that some stories in the Bible may

not
be 100% historically accurate in no way diminishes the message of the

Bible.
That is the true power of the Bible - the message. By insisting that
the
Bible be interpreted literally then, the more it is shown that the Bible

is
not 100% accurate, the more your faith and beliefs are in danger of
crumbling. By realizing the message in the Bible is what is important

your
faith should never have to come in question.

I hope some day you see the light - perhaps like Paul did.

there is also a group of scientists who say they have
evidence that all but 15-20,000 people were killed in a
cataclsym about 100,000 years ago. dna is about 80% junk
that does nothing but go for a free ride and the rest show
an extremely tiny gene pool resulted in modern man.
there are a lot of theories out there but where is the one
man-woman stuff? i'd love to see that.

Actually if you reverse extrapolate the population growth, accounting for
wars and natural disasters, I think you will find the numbers seem to come
to about 0 within about a 4 thousand yr time frame. I didn't do this
research, but I did find it interesting.
B

And if there had never been any people killed in the name of religion, a
ridiculous belief in a mythical superior being, the population today would
be many million more, not that that would be a good thing. Billy

If I extrapolate the weight loss I have achieved over the past couple of
years, I should disappear completely somewhere around 2012 (but don't
hold
your breath).

Brian, you *cannot* extrapolate in the fashion you (or I) described. If

you
had a background in scientific training, you'd realise that.

As it is, I guess you'll have to take it on faith.
You're good at that, yes?

Jeff R.

Actually, you can extrapolate population backwards and get a relatively
good
ballpark figure.
B

I'm sure that I'm not alone in wanting to see your calculations. Billy

How many died when European diseases were carried by missionaries to
countries where they had no resistance, smallpox for one.

These non christians were perfectly happy with the faiths they followed
until the missionaries arrived and convinced them to become christian
through violence and bribery, if only they had killed every one of them as
soon as they set foot on their soil they would have been a lot better off,
not mention many more of them alive. Billy
