The letters P, O and S etc are mint marks indicating where the coin was
minted. -- -- Remember when a hero with convictions wasn't a ball player with a rap sheet? "Queen of Squishies" wrote in message ink.net... I have an S, an O, and .....mmmmmm...... a rectangle. Probably an S, it's

By your description they are probably average circulated examples and worth from $10 - $20 per coin retail. If you went to sell them to a dealer you would realize much less than that (problably $6 - $15 per). If you can post pics to alt.binaries.pictures.numismatic we can give you a better idea of value. Here's where the Red Book would come in handy for you. :-) -- Ed Hendricks ANA# R178621 eBay: edh. |

The O & S are mintmarks. The was no P mintmark for the 1901, 1882,
and 1879 silver dollars. This link might help... http://www.coinpage.com/glossary.php?search=mintmark "Queen of Squishies" wrote in message link.net... But if you want one, I can make one in a jiffy. :-) Bruce If not incuse you will get your silver P mint mark to glue on from where?
