Just my Opinion
In this weeks Sports Collectors Digest, it was stated that Donruss Playoff will
insert the $250,000 1925 Babe Ruth Jersey they won in the Lelands auction, in packs of cards. I for one really hate to see, valuble pieces of Basbeall history, choped up and inserted in wax boxes in the name of "CHASE" cards to help sell the cards inside. The card companies also put a SLIVER of wood, in a card and call it a game used bat,.or a tiny piece of cloth from a chopped up jersey, and call it a game used jersey card. I know its all about the MONEY, but I truly dislike to see these pieeces of historydestroyed by corporations. any thoughts?? Den |

Den ************************************************** ************************** ********************************************* i agree with you.the game jersey thing is getting kind of tired.especially when the card companies put in jersey swatches of players nobody cares about.if i pay $90.00 for a box of ud sweet spot cards,i expect the insert card(s) should be something worthwhile.i think the autographs are the only true valuable thing that is put in to cards.but i agree, they shouldn't cut up a babe ruth uniform.it's acually kind of dumb.but then again it is all in the name of money.those ruth jersey cards will be worth very little someday. |

I agree. Stupid idea that ruins a good piece of baseball memorabilia.
