"Peter Baumann" Now it is my turn again! That one had been issued on march 21. 1969 - 50 anniversary of founding of the peoples republic. 40 filler to 3 forint plus 1 souveniersheet, perforated and unperforated. |

And here is my turn again :-) This (very ugly) stamp, that reproduces a poster, is not dedicated to the Hungarian Peoples Republic (created in 1949) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/People%...lic_of_Hungary but to the Hungarian Soviet Republic (Räterepublik in German), created in 1919. "The Hungarian Soviet Republic or Soviet Republic of Hungary (Hungarian: Magyarországi Tanácsköztársaság) was a Communist regime established in Hungary from March 21 until August 6, 1919, under the leadership of Béla Kun. It was the first Communist government to be formed in Europe after the October Revolution in Russia which brought the Bolsheviks to power in that country. Lasting only four months, the Soviet republic fell apart when Romanian forces occupied Budapest. The successor to the state was the Kingdom of Hungary formed after the Romanian Army pulled out of Hungary." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hungarian_Soviet_Republic -- Victor Manta ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Communism on Stamps: http://reds-on.postalstamps.biz/ Romania by Stamps: http://marci-postale.com/ Philatelic Webmasters Organization: http://pwmo.org/ Art on Stamps: http://artonstamps.org/ Spanish North Africa: http://www.sna-on.postalstamps.biz/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |

I just can't fool him.:-)) Peter -- No Gates - no Bill! |

AFAIK, no one of those European satellites (called peoples or socialist or democratic republics) created by the USSR after the WW2 lasted 50 years. -- Victor Manta ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Communism on Stamps: http://reds-on.postalstamps.biz/ Philatelic Webmasters Organization: http://pwmo.org/ Art on Stamps: http://artonstamps.org/ Romania by Stamps: http://marci-postale.com/ Spanish North Africa: http://www.sna-on.postalstamps.biz/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
