I have read the entire text of the auction description and I still fail to understand how buying American Silver Eagle Proofs are what one should consider in the face of a financial crisis. Can someone clue me in? Thanks large. |

I guess he thinks the big print in his ad is justification for a $300+
premium over what the mint's price was. Sold out does not automatically mean a large price surge--unless there is an increased demand. I don't see lots of people running to buy his coins.. Right now they are going for about $50 give or take. I saw one seller offering a box of 20 that was priced at $1200 or something. He was taking best offers so I offered $40. The seller came back with a snide remark stating he can sell them all day for $50. He then counter-offered for $1150. Uhhhh hey genius, usually when someone buys a quantity of an item you charge them *less* per unit not *more* per unit. |

I mean, what are you going to do with any kind of precious metal in a total collapse? That's why I continue to advise the collectors and hoarders I know to dump everything while the delusion is running rampant over the "how ****ing obvious does it have to be" common senses. That's just what I did. It hurt a little and took me awhile to reach the right people, but I knew I'd made out like a bandit on those convinced they were investing in the future. I was right too, as I liquidated my collection in part and parcel at an average 30% profit. The simple fact is, we won't have much use for any of this when the bigger picture comes to fruition, so the true value in ANY asset at this stage of the game lies in the barter for things you need to live, while the things you need to live are still available for barter. |

Too much hype - Hes goading everyone to stock up on silver NOW so they can make a slaying in a year or two ,,, Then he proceeds to sell his silver ? That does not compute. He'd do much better to just take a pic of whats hes got with a brief description than to try to play P.T. Barnum. |

Also an example of precious metal, some would say. Some years back, some preacher was telling his congregation to stock up on cash and US savings bonds in preparation for the impending collapse of the US government. Huh? ....and to drag things back on topic: I have started getting dollar coins in change from time to time.
