making fabric dolls--need help
Don't know if anyone can help me, but I am having a problem making
fabric dolls; when I make the head part (I use cotton muslin fabric usually), after I stuff the head, I can't seem to get a smoothe chin-line, without bunching of fabric, when I sew the two pieces of fabric together. I have tried stuffing it very tightly but almost invariably I get puckering and bunching around the chin and jawline where the seam is. I make dolls with very beautiful faces and the unsmooth line around the chin ruins the whole effect, making them look like old ladies with wrinkles at the seamline. Any suggestions? Please email me at and you can visit my website at: http://www.gentlebreezeart.com I don't have my dolls up at the website yet (still trying to work out the bugs!) but I have watercolor prints and greeting cards. |
