The warning about EDMONTON STAMP SHOWS needs constant repeating, for
the protection of all those interested.

As for the clown who claimed the theft from Mr. Kaye was from a car,
he must be smoking some illegal substance, since nowhere in the
report,as in BNAPS, does it mention anything about such. Only that the
theft was from the show!!!

Eric, your lack of concern for the loss of around $20,000 by Donald
Kaye is disturbing.

Just hope and pray that a similar fate will not befall you.

As for all the rest of the interested philatelists, AVOID EDMONTON
STAMP SHOWS, unless you want to have your items stolen!!

It will be difficult to obtain insurance for those participating
there, now that insurance companies are aware of the high risks to
those attending, and the many police files for thefts over several
years!!

(intifida88) wrote in message . com...
Eric, the article appears on page 44 of the EDMONTON SUN newspaper of
20 April 2003.

BNAPS have also publicised the theft on their website
www.bnaps.or
Their article follows:
Posted January 10, 2004: On March 29, 2003, twenty (20) collectible
covers were stolen from the dealer's table of Donald Kaye, at the
Edmonton Spring National show in Edmonton, Alberta.

The details of each cover can be obtained from Don at 17131 Coral
Beach Rd., Winfield, BC, V4V 1B9. The value of the individual items
ranged from $75 to $950; and there was another lot of 10 or so covers
valued at over $3,000.

Most covers were small queens. There were 4 large queen covers and one
5 cent beaver cover. One item was a 10 cent rated registered cover
franked with 20 1/2 cent small queens, from Quebec to Buenos Aires.

Some of the town cancels we Eamers Corners, St. Hyacinthe,
Millevaches, and Arthur.

The theft was reported to the Edmonton police, case file: 03-39095.

Eric, the article was published by the Edmonton Journal newspaper
between 28 March 2003 and 30 June 2003, on their police reports page.
If you need the exact date and page number, the newspaper can probably
fax you the printed article.

Hi Eric. No,lack of concern means they are too busy getting donuts and
coffee in the local Tim Hortons. Also, they make more money from
parking tickets and photo radar.

As for the ongoing investigation re criminal charges, still ongoing I
would suspect, both in town,in Ottawa, and overseas since Interpol
involved because of money laundering.

In any case, dealers considering Edmonton Stamp Shows should realize
they may not be insured, because of the constant series of thefts
there,apparaently an "inside job"!!

Eric Bustad wrote in message ...
"Lack of concern"? Does that mean that the "official of RPSC" is no
longer "serious criminal frauds investigation"?

BTW, when was the original article in the _Edmonton Journal_?

This warning needs constant repetition, so that gullible new dealers
avoid having their stock stolen in Edmonton,Canada.

It certainly seems to be an inside job, and the lack of concern by the
city police, shows how little interest they have in the matter, when
out of towners get robbed.

(AdolfSharon) wrote in message . com...

At least one senior official of RPSC is under serious criminal frauds
investigation, with other possible charges pending, based on further
investigations. He used to be a prison warden, while major drug deals
were going down in his penitentiary!! How did he finance his
collection, one wonders??
His co-directors must be sweating bullets as they say, and now with
Interpol interested, who knows who else will get drawn into the
web,both in Canada and elsewhere?

I think that the mysterious world of stamp collecting needs a good car chase
now and then as well.

What's the body count on this story?
cheers

: The APS should also be broadcasting this warning, since some of their
: members may be thinking about going to the Spring Show.

: Executives of RPSC are very nervous, now that Special Investigation of
: the Canadian tax Department are investigating!!!

: After all, one is known by the company one keeps, and if you are

: Hopefully this worldwide bad publicity, WARNING ABOUT A SERIES OF
: THEFTS FROM DEALERS ATTENDING EDMONTON STAMP SHOW,will help to
: convince reputable dealers to avoid this disaster area, thereby
: eliminating such losses!!
: From the reports, it sure smells like an "inside" job, again.

: In what is becoming a regular annual occurrance, yet another stamp
: dealer has been robbed of stock at the annual stamp show held by the
: EDMONTON STAMP CLUB, in Edmonton,Canada, last month.

: The media report that this dealer had a box of expensive material : stolen in broad daylight around lunch time.

: The article in the news did not say whether it is suspected that
: the theft was done by someone connected with the so-called
: stamp show, since for quite a few of the past shows, there have been
: similar thefts from dealers.

: That is why there are now fewer and fewer reputable dealers
: attending this particular so-called show.

: For what dealers must pay to attend the show, why don't the executives
: of the Edmonton Stamp Club pay for qualified security staff?

: Is it that they want to wine and dine themselves into a stupor from all
: the profits from overcharging the few dealers left who attend?

: BEWARE!!! UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR STOCK STOLEN!!

: In a related story, the person in charge of the Edmonton Stamp Club
: stamp shows is being investigated by C.C.R.A. Special Investigations
: in connection with his testimony in Court, regarding MILLIONS OF
: DOLLARS OF UNDECLARED INCOME!!

: Further, the tax authroities are also checking into his admission
: of MONEY LAUNDERING!!

: Hmm,hmmm.......

OK - either this poster:

1) has something to do with the stamps
2) obsesses compulsively
3) needs a medicine change

We have gotten the picture at least 10 - 15 posts ago. Do you think
you can go out to see a movie, go on a date, or mount some stamps for
a while instead of posting this drivel again and again and again... ?

Can you spell "delusional paranoid?"

C'mon, who would have Grosvenor on a date?

Talk about SICK.

"Grosvenor does make occasional forays into sanity when
he rattles off verifiable facts about the Ghermezians'
financing problems (they unsuccessfully attempted to
repackage $486 million of their debt three years ago).

"But this impression of lucidity evaporates when he
starts making dark suggestions about mysterious visits
to Edmonton by Adnan Khashoggi and Mario Cuomo, tosses
in a few words about the Teamsters and wraps it all up
by insisting that Triple Five has 'absolutely nothing
to do with the development of the Mall of America.'
Gee, Bill, if that wasn't the Ghermezian brothers down
there in Minnesota, who were those four Iranian impostors?"
(Queenan, Joe. Forbes, September 4, 1989, Pg. 72)

"Edmonton Reporters know all about William (Bill)
Grosvenor's 'news tips.' The invariably concern the
Ghermezian family, developers of West Edmonton Mall,
and they always have something bad to say about the
Ghermezians and their company, Triple Five Corporation.
'Hi, it's Bill Grosvenor,' goes a typical call. 'I've
just persuaded the British authorities to cancel the Leeds
project.' A few phone calls and the 'story' inevitably
turns out to be false.

"But other Grosvenor claims are downright defamatory - a
favorite is that the Ghermezians are selling drugs in the
video arcade at West Edmonton Mall - and Grosvenor doesn't
just make them to Edmonton reporters, with whom he has
exhausted whatever credibility he might once have had.
Grosvenor, like the Ghermezians, has expanded his
operations to Europe, where he has made his malicious
comments to newspaper reporters and businessmen who don't
know any better than to believe him." (Tony Philip &
Glenn Kubish. "Master of Malice: The Ghermezians put an
end to Bill Grosvenor's 'news tips'" Alberta Report,
July 3, 1989, pp 19-20)

It seems that J.Mc must be mentally challenged.
The header clearly refers to EDMONTON, so this slime interjects some
article referring to another city - Calgary!! Perhaps he is personally
involved with thefts that he wants to divert attention from the
repeated EDMONTON SHOW THEFTS? One must wonder why he is so
clueless....

It seems that Bill Grosvenor must be mentally challenged... given his
delusional paranoia, that is a given.
Given the lack of balls, it seems Bill Grosvenor is also an abject coward.
