Default Less Than Week Left For Americover Discounts

There are only a few days left for those attending Americover 2007 to
save money on the social functions before, during and after the World
Series of Philately stamp show.

The American First Day Cover Society's annual FDC show and convention
will be held August 17-19 in Stamford, Conn.

The day before the show, Thursday the 16th, a tour will show six of
the major tourist attractions in the Nutmeg State: The World's Largest
Dairy Store, a Connecticut "Country House," a seaside restaurant, the
Norwalk Maritime Museum, Stamford's "Fish Church," a large model
railroad layout and two Louis Comfort Tiffany stained glass windows.
(For those keeping count, the trains and windows are in the same
Stamford church.)

Until July 1st, the price for the tour is $30; after, it's $33.

The Friday night President's Banquet features a buffet and the winners
of the annual AFDCS Cachetmakers Contest. Before July 1st, the price
is $55; after, $63.

Saturday night features the Cachetmakers Bourse, the biggest
concentration of new-issue FDCs anywhere presented by their producers.
That's free, but you can save $5 on post-bourse buffet ($28 vs. $33)
by signing up early.

Following the close of the show Sunday, there's a cookout at the
Stamford Museum & Nature Center
http://www.stamfordmuseum.org/index.html. Besides the exhibits of
farm life and nature trails, those attending will hear from an
"ambassador" to NASA and get a chance to look through the Center's
observatory telescopes. There's a $6 savings before July 1st.

Those planning on attending all of these events can save $15 more with
the pre-registration package: $152, versus $189 for events purchased
individually after July 1st.

Another reasons to register early: Seats on the buses for the tour and
cookout are limited.

The pre-registration form can be found at
www.afdcs.org/AM07PreregistrationForm.pdf .

Americover 2007 will be held at the Stamford Marriott Hotel & Spa, and
will feature a large mostly-FDC bourse, cachetmakers bourse, top
exhibits, a banquet, meetings, seminars, youth booth, pre-show area
tour and post-show dinner event.

To obtain the special $99 Americover room rate, call the Marriott
reservation line at 888-236-2427 or the hotel directly at
203-357-9555, and specify "Americover." The online discount code is
"afdafda." The deadline is August 1st.

For more information on Americover 2007 and the AFDCS, contact the
AFDCS at P.O. Box 16277, Tucson, Arizona 85732-6277, or
, or visit www.afdcs.org.
