Default 1988 French 20 Centimes found in circulation

Somehow I ended up with a 1988 French 20 Centimes in my pocket change.

About the same size as a US quarter but brown in color, if not looking
carefully it could
be mistaken for a quarter which is apparently what happened here.

Don't know what store I got it from, just noticed it this morning. How
a French coin
got into circulation in Michigan is anyones guess.
