I have a 2000 since 1979 and yet another which I bought about two
years ago. Both are great writers, and I kind of like the "stealth"
matte black barrel and cap.

Lamy warranty repair did right by me. They took in a 2000 that I
bought used, with a very dented cap, and replaced major parts with no
questions asked. I only paid a reasonable shipping charge.

I have a Lamy Safari. It writes very nicely, but the grip isn't comfortable
for me to use for many pages so I just use it for short notes.

is is the same as Lamy vista? i have a vista with (cursiave) median italic.
