Government should be very limited in what it does.

We need a single payer national health system.
Case closed!

what you are actually saying is that you want someone else to pay for
all the health care services you want. Sounds kind of greedy to me.

In fact the whole idea of letting the government get involved with
what is basically a private business transaction between me, MY
insuance carrier, and MY doctor stinks. the government and more
especially YOU need to keep your nose out of my private business.

I agree completely. Capitalism, competition, and private enterprise are the
essence of the American way. Once I have mine, why should I care whether my
neighbor ever gets his?

Another essence of the American Way is "Trade, or we invade".
This is a dreadfully disrespectful attitude towards other nations' ways
of life and needs modifying urgently.

What nation has the US invaded because it refused trade?

Fairy tale or not, the story of "The Little Red Hen" immediately comes to
mind here.

Exactly. Since when did the government ever build a decent car, run a
bank, or even make a profit without threats (read that as penalties
and interest on taxes, which are another form of threats). Too many
programs started and run by the government are going or are already
bankrupt. And some people want them controlling health care?

Jerry
Augh, another political rant.

Yeah, let me add to your list.

When did the government ever build an effective interstate highway system?
When did the government ever run a successful space exploration program?
When did the government ever create a system that would carry my love letter
across the country for 44c? When did the government ever build a medical
research laboratory? When did the government ever create military bands
that would tour the entire nation giving free concerts and bringing culture
into places like North Lugburz? When did the government ever build and
maintain a decent library?

These are just some of the questions that demand answers NOW.

I'd rather provide all those things for myself by myself than to pay a
single nickel in taxes and watch the government spend a dime and still
totally screw things up, but they won't let me. Damn socialists.

As I recall, the Little Red Hen toiled for "hers" and didn't feel guilty
when her neighbors who hadn't chosen to help were left to watch her enjoy
the fruits of her toils with her brood. Just my interpretation of the hen's
feelings. Sometimes it's tough to tell for sure..

OK, thanks for clearing that up. I was fixated on the "Sky Is Falling"
story starring Chicken Little. Guess I need to brush up on my folklore.

What I am saying is the USA should have a national health plan like they do in
Canada.
It would be tax payer financed.
I pay taxes, don't you?
