Default Sassone 128a

Sassone lists the 25 centisimi of the 1922 Mazzini issue as existing
with a deformed E in Cent. (Sassone 128a, Scott 140.) For those
Sassone users amongst us, is the deformation shown at:

http://cjoint.com/?jvtWMpuc1Z

what Sassone refers to?

Ignore the mistake in the file name of the image. The variety really
is a deformed E, not a defored C.

All help will be appreciated.

The huge white ring on the "E" of "CENT" at lower left.

Thanks. The huge white ring certainly was different from any other
images, but it was nice to get confirmation that it was what Sassone
meant.

I'm no expert in Italy, but here is an enlarged scan
of the normal stamp for reference.

Nice find.

One IS illustrated on www.italianstamps.co.uk, where I am trying to
show examples of as many Italian area 'errors' as possible.

See http://www.italianstamps.co.uk/kingd...ini/index.html

By the way, it is Sassone 128g (or was in 2008)
