This "lovely" Brilliant Uncirculated smooth edge Washington Dollar
sells for $93:

While at the same time, some NGC certified examples are now selling
for around $50:

I've been shopping for a smooth edge error now that the general price
is much lower, and as often is the case with other items, I am left
scratching my head at the way people bid.

All I can figure is people just assume that they can not get one for
under $100 (or whatever price they have set for themself) and just do
not look?
