Default Shutting down auctions

Some months ago eBay enacted a new policy prohibiting the sale of an
item when you claim uncertainty about its authenticity. Specifically,
under "Authenticity Disclaimers," eBay says:

Sellers may not disclaim knowledge of, or responsibility for, the
authenticity or legality of the items offered in their listings.

Sellers should take steps to satisfy themselves that their items are
authentic before listing them on eBay. If you cannot verify the
authenticity of an item, do not list it.

The following examples violate eBay's Authenticity Disclaimer Policy:

* "I cannot guarantee the authenticity of this item, so please bid
accordingly."

* "Vintage Handbag Chanel???"

In the past, alerting eBay to violations of this have produced no
results. Typically in these cases the seller claims he inherited a
"coin" from grandpa, doesn't know anything about coins, thinks it may
be real but isn't sure, and all sales are final when the "coin"
illustrated is a blatant counterfeit. I've seen these counterfeits
sell for ten times what counterfeits as counterfeits or as replicas
typically sell for, with buyers who think just maybe they're getting a
real deal getting cheated instead, perhaps deservedly, but cheated
nonetheless.

In the last week, amazingly, eBay shut down two of these auctions.
Maybe they've hired more personnel so that reports of listing
violations actually get read?
