apology to keith

I thought Keith used the image I worked so hard to modify and make...
only to learn there is another version out there where he got it from
(who'd of thought). apparently the target Ad borrowed from somewhere
or the people Keith bought the image from did what I did
(cut/airbrush/clone or whatever). In any case, he did not get the
image from me. So I apologize for that....

I would like to say though, that wasn't the point of the whole post
though... as in relation to Star Archive, my point is this: people
put up a site free of charge and offer all these things whether it be
Keiths images, Star Archives addresses, or scans of autographs for
comparison.... to do it for years and give and take on an equal level
only to turn around and charge is not cool. If you want a pay site,
start it off as that and let that be it. But if you are doing it as a
hobby and suddenly learn you can make money off all your friends who
helped you out.... that's just not cool. I thought Keith's idea of a
donation button was cool and I think Todd suggested people who use it
all the time donate something. For that I agree. But really,
addresses and images don't belong to us do they? If they are listed by
the actor/agency or in the white pages they are for public
dissemination. to charge for this is wrong. To say "it costs a lot
to maintain my site and I am offering all this work for you ... could
you donate?" That makes more sense. Of course you'll get people who
go in once or twice and not donate or those who are jerks, but surely
someone has a conscience?

That's like the white pages directory coming to our door with a lock
on it saying you can have it if you paid us. How'd you feel about
that?
