Default shipping...Ebay... scammers again

I inquired about a signed "coloring book", signed by the artist on the
cover. I saw the guy said "listed under retail". i believe it was
3.99 and list or retail price was 5.99. Shipping????? TEN BUCKS!!!!!

Here's his ID spiderwebart and be VERY cautions. He also took three
days to answer why he charges so much. His answer was that he
includes insurance and you can ship up to 4 books.

Well insurance on an item less than 5 bucks? I don't think so. And 4
books you can ship for about 3 bucks media mail or 6 bucks priority.

SCAMMERS....

Now, I think I'll put him on a new list called "ebayer scammers" He'll
have the honor of being number one. Too bad he is so greedy as he's
got some great stuff. He just turned off a buyer who was interested in
several items.

I recently bought a one ounce silver coin from a seller on ebay, charged me
8 bucks in shipping. It was shipped in a previously used envelope with a
total of $1.11 in stamps.

gutting people on shipping is the new scam with many sellers on ebay. Don't
buy, just let them know why your not gonna bid on their item.

Or here's a novel idea, pretend you are going to pay an OVERALL price, and
then find the cheapest OVERALL PRICE. That way we all don't have to read
these constant posts on these horrible ebayers that put an item for $1 with
$20 shipping. I don't know about you, but I just paid $10 for a set of dvds
with $20 shipping. Will it cost $20 to ship, hell no, but the $30 was the
cheapest price on eBay, and I salute the seller for offering me what is
clearly the cheapest price around. Do I care he overcharged me, not 1 bit
as long as it was listed. Ebay fees are only going to keep going up guys,
so count on this practice only increasing. At any auction house, you pay an
buyers premium and no one cries about that, at any online store, there are
often times exhorbant handling fees and everyone is used to that, but for
whatever reason people just don't get the fact that eBay should NOT be
charging listing fees at all and their overall fees should be significantly
lowered considering the volume they do, and for these reasons, many sellers
manipulate minimum bids and shipping fees to offset final values and listing
fees. Sellers do what they have to do. Last I knew, no one retired off the
profit of shipping on eBay and if they did, they obviously had a great
overall price of their item so God bless em!

PS: If you are that anal about a listed shipping fee, try emailing sellers
and asking if they'd consider letting you pay actual shipping possibly with
a modest handling charge. Obviously though, if it's like my $10 dvds with
$20 shipping, it's almost an insult to ask that, the $30 overall price is
the best around, so use the above suggestion accordingly.

I would say to report them to eBay.. snort snicker Sorry, couldn't keep
that in. :-) It would just fall on deaf ears. As long as they get their
money from the auction, they're happy. Kind of like a hog. Keep that
trough filled with food and the hog won't complain. Try not paying them the
$3.00 or whatever for posting an auction and you get all kinds of reminder
emails. Try complaining about a known wrong doing, you'll get an automated
"thank you for the email" email. lol

I actually did that a couple of times and both times I received rude
responses. You would think I was trying to steal their item. I am probably
one of the most polite people you'll come across and that is reflected in my
emails. All I did was provide them with the exact shipping costs, based off
of their posted weights. I did offer to pay a little more for the handling
too. Both times, the emails came back with stuff like "Did I state that my
fees were negotiable?" and "These are fair s/h fees". As for your DVD
comparison, I personally go to Hollywood or Blockbuster Video. They have
continuous sales where you can buy 3 fairly new releases for $25.00 or (at
Hollywood) 4 older releases for $20.00. Yes they're used, but there is no
guarantee that the "new" DVDs that you're buying from eBay are actually new.

Yep, S/H costs always rob people on Ebay. The problem is, yes we
have a dollar figure on Shipping Costs.. but everyone has their own opinion
on how much their own time is worth which is the handling. Unless EBAY sets
a "minimum wage" on what ones time is worth for handling it will never
stop.. LOL..

Another thing that bugs me is someone who lists a item for a .99 cents
and then has a notice stating reserve not meet,WHY BOTHER???,list the
item at the reserve price to begin with, and I notice something new I
tried to bid on a DVD and a notice came up stating the seller was
off/out and you would have to wait until they come back on line (ie
like a vacation etc) so I could not bid on it, again WHY BOTHER??.Sorry
for the rant.Casdon

PS honesty is the best policy. Build you costs into your item price.
Do not look like a scammer by putting it in the shipping costs.

LOL Fair shipping fees is another way of saying, I am not man enough
to build in my costs to the item like a regular business with a roof
does. So I'll try to build it in other places where hopefully you
won't notice till it's too late. I know I read all the auction, but
most times they do not even tell you ... and those shipping
calculators are crap. I did one once to mail a guy a bust (metal and
pretty heavy) to Canada and it was like 14-17 bucks shipping according
to that. I had issues with the customs slip and gave up and went to
the post office. Cost me like 6-7 bucks to mail it! So beware of
those. Ask the weight and go into USPS yourself. Also, watch out for
the scammers who put in higher weights in their auto
calculators...they do that a LOT.

I don't care if people think I whine. I am standing up for my beliefs
and one of them is not to rip people off! 10 bucks to mail a thin,
lightweight coloring book? The item itself isn't worth that much!
LOL And by the way, this scammer as with most, tend to lie and say "I
send priority, delivery confirmation, insured and packed in bubble
wrap". Lying pieces of crap... most send in something used, first
class or media mail with NOT special services. It burns me up!
