Default Glaussen Pennies

I came accross a reference in wikipedia mentioning solid gold
"Glaussen Pennies". The only other reference I found that was not a
exact copy of the wikipedia posting stated "...with the introduction
of the Lincoln Cent design, saw the production of 2,144 solid gold
"Glaussen Pennies" by the jeweler Pharis & Locke through a special
contract with the federal mint". (Web site
http://www.informationdelight.info/e..._Lincoln_cent).
Web and image searches have yielded absolutely nothing. Does anybody
know what these are, if there are pics available, and were they really
authorized by the feds?

Maybe it's an Urban Legend.
You should ask David Lange.
