A very strange mixture indeed, but linked in a very odd way.

In 1928, Robson Lowe gave a Jaipur cover to William Hinde
the great India collector.
He suggested the seal on the back was a rare stamp of the "Rajah of Bhong"
( from an early twentieth century play)


The very first Brownlow medal in Australian football was won by
Edward "Carji" Greeves of the Geelong football club.
Greeves was nicknamed "Carji" after Carjillo, the Rajah of Bhong, a character in a
popular play. He played 124 games for Geelong from 1923 and in 1928 coached the
University of Southern California American football team.
