Those cardboard records are turning out to be collectables in and of
themselves.

I now own "Whipped Cream & Other Delights" on mono, stereo and quad!
The quad mix is awesome- on the same level as"The Best of the Doors".
Geek Moment here.

One Q8 mix I loathe is the "Sound of Music" soundtrack.
"Electronically rechanneled for stereo/quad" sound. Blech. Horrid.
This was one of the first Q8s by RCA- I can't imagine this helped the
format at all. The highs are still on the tape, but with all the
electric "echo" and delays, so much detail was wiped out.

I just ordered Sundazed's series of Monkees reissues- the first 5
albums on 180g vinyl with bonus tracks! I have "More of" and
"Headquarters" now- the record store called and said the rest are in so
I'll get 'em Friday afternoon. Psyched!!! Since Sundazed didn't do
the remaining 4 original albums I'll be hunting down the Rhino
reissues.

Oh- the Sundazed LPs sound wonderous. ;-D
