Default V-Mail discussion on soc.history.war.world-war-ii

FYI, there is an interesting discussion about V-Mail on the
soc.history.war.world-war-ii newsgroup. A word of warning: it's a moderated
newsgroup, without spam.

Thanks Bob,
Interesting thread, learned a few new things.
Recently at a garage sale I bought a packet of unused V-Mail. In case anyone
never knew how it came packaged, it came in a large envelope 10 inches by 6
inches made of red paper with a silver border and in silver letters has
"UNITED STATES/Official/V(a large 3 inch high V)/...__/V-MAIL/25 LETTER SHEET
ENVELOPES/FOR RUSH PHOTOGRAPHIC MAIL/TO OUR ARMED FORCES OVERSEAS"
"/ " means a new line.
My package has 10 envelopes left but they appear to have some slight
differences in their cut and paper quality so they probably are from different
batches.
