Hmmm, no eBay listings, and one is always a bit inclined to send the red
flags a fluttering when we hear of US coins coming from the Far East.

I daresay that your no-return policy will put off most readers of this
newsgroup.

They all have that fake look to them, very common to the fakes I saw all
over in S. China last year. You state one coin is marked copy, but all of
them save the 1847 Large cent are copies. The appearance of the metal is
not right for silver.

Or any other buyer with brains. Such blatant dishonesty is scary.

Although he includes a grading disclaimer in his listings, calling the following coin
BU certainly showed me that I can't believe anything he says:

http://i6.ebayimg.com/01/i/000/9c/03/02e1_1.JPG

http://i6.ebayimg.com/03/i/000/9c/02/f7cb_1.JPG

Not only is the coin not "uncirculated", there's nothing "brilliant" about it.

eBay auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=110121052906

And then his negative feedback for the returned overgraded coin attempts to put the
blame on the buyer..."This Feedback Came From One of Those Few Ebayers That You Just
Can't Please....."

I also have a hard time believing this polished up (beat-up) coin is a "proof":
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=110152017028

Recently he started breaking the eBay rules by adding a 3% grading surcharge to the
listing. If he can't play by eBay's rules, that's another good reason not to trust
him. He must have found out that you can't add a surcharge in a listing, because he
recently replaced the PayPal surcharge with instructions to contact him directly if
you want to pay by other than money orders or checks.

Listing with the PayPal surcharge (note that it appears to be the same cent he
previously tried to sell as BU):

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...1101523 51772

Sample listing with his new payment instructions:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...1101558 29396

Based on just the above, I'd warn anyone away from his listings. And his claim in
this thread that he culled over 2% of his purchases as replicas, showing his obvious
lack of knowledge with what he is buying and selling, I'd bet quite a few more fakes
are among what he now claims to believe are authentic. Stay away, stay far away...

(I'd also watch for future listings of these same coins under other eBay UserIDs to
try to dump this crap...)

That's why I mentioned he's breaking the eBay rules. eBayUK also forbid the PayPal
surcharge some time ago.

I bought the replicas as many people do and knowingly. You armchair
advisers really should get a life.

Read my last Ebay feedback from the guy who bought the coin you
hammered on. He was very well pleased. It may not have been the proof
coin of a lifetime but the buyer thought highly of it.... but then I
am sure you can put him down for being such an idiot for buying it.
