I had to follow up on this old topic with something on EBay today:

Title: "Mariners REDS Ken Griffey Jr. UD 1989 MT BGS 10 ROOKIE"

Looks like a BGS 10 for sale right? No ... its a raw card with the
description (misspellings left in):

"Ken Griffey Jr. Card # 1 in the SERIS

The famous UD card that everyone wants !

This card is ready for the grade 9.5 or 10 by BGS easy !

If not totally satisified for ANY reason, I'm offering a money
back guarantee as long as card is shiiped back within 10 days
of auction ending."

So, since when is it "easy" to get a BGS 9.5 or 10? And by the time
the seller gets me the card, I may have 2 or 3 days tops to get the
card graded and take him up on his guarantee. What a deal.

Keyword spamming, plain & simple. Report it to eBay & he at least may get a
warning.

That is why you should read the WHOLE discription . I learned the hard way
by not reading it all before bidding . Ebay will say the same thing . READ
before you BID .

(whoops, sent this to user instead of group last time - hope this works now)

eBay won't do squat - a few years ago, someone had "Curt Schilling BGS 10"
cards

It was an ungraded card that "may get a 10", yeah, right... and even worse,
the description was phrased rather tricky so you might not realize it...
someone's doing the same with Fred McGriff cards right now.

That and the "1/1" ads (which are really 1/10 or 1/100 or 1/10000 but just
happen to match the player's uniform number, height, or jock size) drive me
bonkers...

When you see an item listed as a BGS 9.5, it should be a BGS 9.5, not a "may
be a BGS 9.5" card

(here come the utterly shameless plugs)
