Hi Rodney:

Interesting article. The Irish RNLI FD cover is number 004
in the classic RNLI cover series. It is somewhat scarcer
to find than most of the more recent covers.

Hi Blair,

I have the same cover no. 004 in my own RNLI collection. Do you know of
anywhere where I can find more information about the RNLI series - as I have
six books full of them? Which are the more difficult covers to find? Does
the series continue today?

Incidently, as you may know, the Waveney class lifeboat, seen on this cover,
was a great favourite among crews and was developed from a US coastgaurd
cutter. The RNLI no longer use this lifeboat for regular service duties.

Out of service Waveneys have been sold worldwide - even as far away as NZ.
