NOt really, but I don't see why you just don't scan it in and keep the
book in tact for either furture use, to give or sell or whatever.
Cutting the photo out would make the book worthless. I don't think
it's rude though; just think anyplace could copy it for you for a few
cents if you don't have a scanner.

Looking for some opinions here...

I have an old book of a celebrity (written by that person as well) and there's
a great photo in it of them. Even though it's an old beat up book I bought for
$1 at a garage sale, do you think they would consider it rude if I cut the
picture out of the book and sent it to them to sign? Has anyone else here done
this?

Thanks,
~Patrick

Hi Patrick,
I've picked -up several beat up books at garage sales/thrift shops just for
a photo in the book or because the cover was still in nice shape; and sent
it to celeb's for an autograph - no problem!
Did this for Disney's "Annette." Found the Disney book, "Annette, Sierra
Summer". Book was in rough shape and bought it for a quarter so I could
send the nice cover to her for an autograph. Got it back signed, and it's a
beautiful cover!
