[META] Good bye, Outlook Express

Even if I used it less and less for e-mail, it was my standard newsgroups client and as such it did its job without problems. I doubt that his successor, Windows Live Mail (btw, a program to which I could easily switch), will last so long but only the future will tell me if I'm right or wrong. Anyway, I'm back, after a short and productive delay, spent for configuring my new, 64 bits machine and for installing, rather successfully, different programs. Victor: I think you'll find WLM will have fairly long legs -- that is, it'll be around for a while. If you're concerned, though, you might consider making the full leap to Microsoft Outlook (the 2010 version is the best yet), although it lacks support for newsgroups. Or, go completely independent and use Mozilla Thunderbird or Forte Agent. Both of the latter will also accomodate newsgroup access in addition to email. I use Outlook 2010 for email, and Forte Agent 6.00 for newsgroups, and have been very happy with the two for several years. //Steve// -- //Steve// |
