Very sad. I have been to the New York store quite a few
times over the years (since the 60s). In more recent years,
I noticed that they also carried Spanish texts.

Yeah, but you didn't present a valid posting.
The only bookstores worth saving are the ones that forget or are too lazy to
mark up their inventory. So you can get valuable books for practically
nothing.

I'm not certain why they're throwing in the towel--surely there must
be premises somewhere in this big city that they could afford (unless
business has become so poor that it's not worth the move). As to the
Spanish texts, maybe they were hoping to pick up some of the slack
left when the two big Spanish-only bookshops closed on 14th Street.
