Disneyworld is in Florida and Disneyland is in California. I've been
to both... it's pretty much the same thing. i don't know if California has the four parks... this might be why it's called Disneyworld in Florida...it has four separate theme parks that make up the "world": MGM Studios, Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom (this would be Disneyland in CA I think) and Epcot Studios. I think that's it. If anyone has a better explanation, I'd love to know myself. But that's what I think it is. I don't think Animal Kingdom is new. It's been there a few years at
least I think. Univeral Studios is not Disney. Not far from Disneyworld in Florida. That too is a world... insomuchas it has a water park and some sort of nightwalk or boardwalk or like that. It consists of hotels and such as well. In California (now I've not been to it in over 15 years) there was a Universal Studios park that was just one park. It too is not part of Disney. The key is that the California Parks are singular, older and smaller than the ones in Florida. Universal is on my want list to go to. They have restaurants there like Jimmy Buffet, Dolly Parton, Emeril Lagosse and there's a few other themed restaurants; one owned by NBA players too. I hear there's a Univer On 06 Apr 2004 18:11:16 GMT, ando (Karl) wrote: Animal Kingdom Animal Kingdom ? Is that new? Disney in Florida was named Disney World before the doors opened 35+ years ago
so people wouldn't confuse it with Disneyland. It was supposed to be built in Tallahassee but the local Commissoner's hemmed and hawed around and Orlando made the deal. |

I was at Universal in Los Angeles last year and it is great. The new Shrek 4D they have is the funniest thing I've ever seen. Most of the attractions are bigger and far more spectacular than Disney's. It's not a kids park though. |

Two different movie studios. MGM though is part of Disney. However,
it's possible a tour package can include both I'm sure. I am postive they are two different things.... On 07 Apr 2004 05:03:40 GMT, ando (Karl) wrote: Univeral Studios is not Disney.
