Parker Dimonite Ruthenium
Does anyone have any information about an apparently new pen from Parker?
They seem to be positioning it with (against?) the Frontier line. Here's a picture of it: http://www.parkerpen.co.uk/pics/search_116 I found it located at the UK site http://www.parkerpen.co.uk listed for £5.00 - £9.99 but was told (by e-mail reply from that site) that it would cost in excess of $50 (US) to get it to the states! Several of the big office supply chains in the U.S. have that pen in blister
packs; not sure what name they've given it though. Scott |

Because of the refill, you can take any ball point pen which takes a Parker style refill -- even a humble Parker Jotter -- and have a Roller Ball style writing experience. That's one thing which may make them worth the cost. Interestingly, I've got one in a Pilot G-2 and found it writes better than the G-2 refill (which writes as long and costs about the same as Pilot ballpoint refills), so I'll agree they're worth a premium over those too. But the price has to come down for me to totally switch to them. -- Urban Fredriksson Favourite pens and inks: http://www.canit.se/%7Egriffon/writing/ |

A regular Parker ballpoint refill is around $3.00 to $3.35 for a blister pack with ONE refill. Now, the ballpoint is probably last longer than the two Gel refills. Yes: Eight times as long according to Parker, and here they cost the same. That's where my number comes from. You "only" pay 5 times more per write length. -- Urban Fredriksson http://www.canit.se/%7Egriffon/ To get rid of an enemy, make him a friend. |

Thanks, David! That's just the information I was hoping to find. Man, I love
it when the Internet gets used the way it was meant to be - this community is the greatest! I was about to spend over $50 for a pen that can be found online for just $20! You guys rule : ) Jeff "David Heverly" wrote in message m... "Jeff" wrote in message news:6VfRa.79302$Ph3.7542@sccrnsc04... Does anyone have any information about an apparently new pen from Parker? They seem to be positioning it with (against?) the Frontier line. In the U.S., it's known as the Parker Infusion. I've been aware of it for about six months or so. It uses the Parker Gel Pen refills. It's priced around $20.00. I think there may be a pencil version that is sold as part of a pen / pencil set. I'm not aware of any fountain pen version. It comes in four colors: Carbon (Black), Blue, Violet, Ochre (sort of a yellowish off white). The gel refills come in the following colors: Black, Blue, Green, Turquoise, Red,and Purple. All are availble as a Medium (7mm) point. Black and Blue are available with a Fine (5mm)point. The gel refills are great. They are the same size and shape of a traditional Parker Ball Pen refill. The gel ink flows similar to a Roller Ball, but much more vibrant in color. I'm particularly fond of the Turquoise, which is a deep shade, similar to Private Reserve Naples Blue. Because of the refill, you can take any ball point pen which takes a Parker style refill -- even a humble Parker Jotter -- and have a Roller Ball style writing experience. David |

David, where did you see this Parker Infusion? I'm having trouble locating
it (in Seattle) anywhere - excepting ordering it online. I've tried Office Depot, Office Max, Stapels and even Target to no avail. Thanks, Jeff "David Heverly" wrote in message m... David, where did you see this Parker Infusion? I'm having trouble locating it (in Seattle) anywhere - excepting ordering it online. I've tried Office Depot, Office Max, Stapels and even Target to no avail. Jeff: I saw this pen at an OfficeDepot in Central Pennsylvania over the Christmas Holidays. They had a Waterman / Parker display in the front of the store filled with gift boxed Watermans and Parkers. It wasn't in the case in the front where they keep the other "fine writing instruments". It was a separate display near the check out lanes. The Infusion was sold as a single pen and as a pen / pencil set. I haven't been there lately, so I don't know if these are items they stock regularly or just during the holidays. If you want to order them via the net, below are two sources. Pencity: http://www.pencity.com/cgi-bin/SoftC...5+10588069 20 Pendemonium: http://www.pendemonium.com I've dealt with both places and have had positive experiences. Pencity charges a few dollars more, but they also offer the pencil, if you are interested in that. Pendemonium is a great place to deal with. They seem to be a smaller operation and thus I've always felt their service was more personalized. You'll be happy dealing with either place. It just depends on what all you want to order and what the shipping charges will be. Good luck! David |

There are some fine gel color refills available. Sadly most do not fit the
1970 Parker Big Red and Yellow I use. Over here Parker rep only imports blue and black. That's it ! Can you recommend a site which has wide selection at decent prices for this BP/RB. I have diff Yafa refills which are supposed to be compatable with Parker but are not. Pilot G2 are great but they fit only the pilots. I did some cutting and cellotaping but all in all not a good fit and nib wobbles. Cross ion has pretty gel colours and writes a nice line. "David Heverly" wrote in message (Urban Fredriksson) wrote in message ... The gel refills are great. But a bit expensive. 8 times more than ballpoint refills. Urban: Wow!!! Eight times the cost! I don't blame you for being a little concerned about using the Gel refills. Where I live in the U.S., there isn't that great of a differential. The going price for the Gel refills is about $4.00 for a blister card with two refills. A regular Parker ballpoint refill is around $3.00 to $3.35 for a blister pack with ONE refill. Now, the ballpoint is probably last longer than the two Gel refills. But still, I think it's a pretty good deal. Third party ballpoint refills cost about $1.50 to $2.00 bucks. I also like the Pilot G2 gel refills. I use them in some Pilot Execu-Gel pens I have. They are great knock-around pens. I just think Parker has some nicer colors. The bottom of the Parker page has regular and gel BP refills in different colors and widths. Hope that helps. Mark Z. Nothing but a satisfied customer |
