I can't imagine anyone actually trying to pull off that kind of
"restoration" to this poor thing, but that was precisely my thought when I
first looked at the coin. (This may well be a classic case of "Caveat
Emptor!")

I was blinded by the clean surfaces at first but I think you guys are
right. That 'R' is horrible and the most obvious to me.
