Default State of collecting (in my opinion)

IMHO
I thought we were going to get a break when Pacific (they had nice cards)
and Donruss dropped out,
but now Donruss is back and badder then ever. One of the worst polluters,
seems like hundreds of
low valued inserts and parallels. Cracks me up, no wonders kids aren't
interested any more. For a while
I didn't understand why ao many collectors focused on just collecting high
end stuff, at least their collections
will retain some value. Card companies need to make a profit and their
employees need to make a living
also, but the way cardmakers are killing off the hobby is a shame. Everyday
I read about thisor that person
dropping out of baseball card collecting and I really can't blame them.
Me,.I'm in it for the long haul, so I
wait for the next upswing.

Merry Christmas
Ron

I agree with what both of you are saying. I went ahead and bought a box
of the 2004 Topps Signature Edition FB for $235 at my local card store
here in Vegas. All I pulled were a Kevin Jones AUTO #'d/1099 and a
Michael Clayton also #'d/1099. If you look on eBay everyday, you are
bound to go broke as Ben Roethlisberger has cards out there that are
upwords of $500+ and he hasn't proven himself as a pro yet. I'll still
buy cards every now and again but my advice is to stay away from wax
until some of this crap cools off which means Roethslisberger in FB and
Okafor and Howard in Basketball. Thanks guys for opening my eyes to
what a crooked world that the card industry has become. I won't be
purchasing anymore for a long while after that box of crap today. Don't
get me wrong, I'll still buy stuff on eBay but that's only so I can
sell it here in Vegas or back on eBay.
