Default Natural toning?

Not a bad looking coin for a monster tone. Are the bright colors
natural? This one must have been lying against the bag if they are.

What was the give-away, Frank? The intensity of the colors?

Artificial toning, no question about it. Natural toning shows a
progression of colors . Looks at some of Eric's dollars to see what I
mean.

Thanks for the thoughts, Bruce. Many of the rainbows look artificial
to me, even when they are in slabs. Some are so intense.

I checked with http://www.atcoins.com/ under the experiment section.
The author has a SAE at the bottom that looks a bit like the Morgan in
the link, only not so intense. It's a shame to ruin a more desirable
coin as the 7/8. I would have practiced on a cheaper coin.

While I'm certainly not an expert, one thing that made me think "AT"
was that the toning didn't seem to get into some of the more protected
areas of the coin, like inside the 8's, and around the stars.

take care,

As it's ugly toning it makes no difference if it's natural of
artificial.

Who would want to buy it? Yuk. Billy

IMHO:
I would say artificial for the same reason as some of the others stated
it. The toning is absent from the areas near the devices. I think the
stars show clearest what is meant if you are confused.
