car subwoofers
has anyone heard those subwoofers while stuck in traffic? (the ones
that shake your car even if you're 20 or so feet away). Would it be possible to hook these up to an 8 track player or is this just a stupid idea?. |

Would it be possible to hook these up to an 8 track player or is this just a stupid idea?. snip I had a 12" in a ported enclosure on my Panasonic at one time, but it's sort of a waste, unless all you listen to is rap crap and you want to really annoy people and get noise tickets. I use two 8s crossed over at 3.5 KHz to two EV horn tweeters, a 7 band equalizer and an older Rockford-Fizzgate amp rated at 100 WPC. That's more than enough for any real listening. |

All the power amps in these old things were none too good, and are lousy with distortion. My Panasonic has the earlier option, and I removed the power transistors. The fidelity and freedom form distortion is as good as any more contemporary cassette deck. dB |
