NCS Repair and Slabbing
Does NCS offer a service like ANACS where they will authenticate, grade, and slab a coin that may otherwise have problems, but without doing anything to it? Or do they pretty much just repair and/or conserve coins? This auction below made be wonder why the owner didn't simply submit the coin to a TPG like ANACS for slabbing. Otherwise, why go through the bother and extra expense to send a problem coin to NCS for conservation only to have it returned as improperly cleaned (by them?)? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=190286704745 |

There were a ton of the Jules Reiver coins that ended up in NCS slabs, and I doubt seriously that they were bagged, returned, and then submitted a second time. James |

It's just hard to imagine that all those Reiver pieces had to be resubmitted. It's much easier to imagine a deal under the table. James |
